Yes, I did make a few contacts, but I wasn’t really participating. I don’t have antennas for VHF/UHF except for the Ringo ARX2B 2m antenna. On 2m I used an ARX2B,�and on 6m I used a horizontal 80m dipole. And on 432 mhz I just threw caution to the wind and keyed up the SOB. [...]

This was really a great contest. I really didn’t hear any real DX stations (i.e. non W/VE) until Sunday evening. When I logged back on to operate I was hearing all kinds of Slovenian and Croatian stations – I’m guessing there was some other contest going on. But they weren’t the only ones. There were [...] I have only run a handful of hours – probably not more than 8 or 9. Of course in that period of time the pros and/or those with excellent antenna systems and amps were already well into the upper 100s after that period of time. Me? I just broke 100. So I’m feeling pretty good. [...] Started out at 0000z. I’d hardly say I had a groove goin on, nor did I get in a groove anytime in the next six hours. So far though I’ve managed 40+ contacts. My biggest disappointment, which I discovered at 2 am when I’m already very tired, is that the LDG isn’t tuning the CW [...] |
